Jerry served in the United States Marine Corps and is a Vietnam veteran.
While serving America, Jerry and Barbara (Bobbie) married in 1968. Fifty-one (51) years later, Barbara (Bobbie) passed away after a gallant battle with two fatal diseases. Jerry and his late wife Barbara have two daughters and six grandchildren, one of whom they adopted and raised in their home.

After discharge from the Marine Corps, Jerry launched a career in Law Enforcement that lasted thirty-three years.

During the process of the Law Enforcement career, Jerry steadfastly pursued advanced academic education. Jerry attended Luther Rice Seminary, earning a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry. After retirement from the sheriff's office, he continued his academic work and earned his Ph.D. majoring in biblical studies. In addition, he has served in churches as a Sunday school teacher, Director of Education, and for nearly two decades as Pastor. He has proudly completed five years serving as a Professor at a small local theological institution.

Jerry is remarried now and serves in a local church, still learning and teaching.

After decades of handling, studying, and teaching the Word of God, Doctor Jerry is committed to ministering to God's people as a guest speaker, giving seminars, teaching, counseling, and writing.
